Thanks to our education system few americans are learning cursive and thus are unable to legibly sign their own names.

Do kids need to learn cursive. I have taken it upon myself to show them how to write in cursive. But cursive does have one benefit that teachers of children with learning disabilities say is inarguable. Kids with dyslexia have an easier time forming words with connected fluid letters.

I happen to believe that good penmanship helps to teach kids discipline and to take pride in something. That s because it s no longer a curriculum requirement. Most people would probably say no.

Learning cursive is an easy way for a child to discover important tactics for learning as well as the emotional benefit of being able to master a task cursive and creativity cursive has the added benefit of being both artistic and highly personal.
